Flash or Javascript based Speed Test sites can be useful in a pinch, but have their limitations.
For example, if multiple clients are testing at once to the same server, it won't perform accurately because the network at that server may be saturated.
Also, some of these sites have software or network limitations that will make your tests inaccurate on higher-speed connections such as a 1Gigabit fibre.
